Liam nodded over at Kevin as he handed him his drink, but before he could make conversation, he was already up and at his usual perch. It wouldn’t normally bother Liam so much if it were any other bloke. However, this Kevin guy was a guest that Kara seemed to like, and since she was like family, Liam was trying his damnedest to be nice, courteous and exchange a few words. Shaking his head lightly, the Irishman picked up a slightly used white towel from the side of the bar and started wiping open areas, where people had decided to depart, to pass the time.
Coming through the back doors was a figure of surprise. Liam turned to see Kara (cloaked as usual) bursting through the spring-back doors with her hood hanging back. He knew that since the Abby was filled with allies and familiar faces, she had little to no fear exposing herself here. They had discussed once before that she didn’t mind walking around without a disguise or hood since she’s only a known rebel on paper. Those who knew her face were either too high up to come to places like this or dead. Tossing the white towel down, he was then surprised to feel her arms wrap around him. Uneasily, though coming back quickly from the shock, Liam reached down and returned the hug, patting his assumed sister on the back,
”Thought you weren’t coming tonight, lass?” He pulled away slowly, moving to serve a beer to a newcomer who had approached the bar.
”Change of plans. I was supposed to meet with ‘David’ tonight, but he cancelled. Some other important stuff he had to tend to.” Kara smiled as she removed her cloak. ‘David’ was their code name for Damien, something Kara came up with on a whim when she realized she spoke too loud in front of other people. Needless to say, she never spoke too loudly about what kind of work she did, since she wanted to keep that as close to chest as possible. Kara was daring, but she truly did not want to risk the lives of those around her, especially Liam. ”And I’m here, aren’t I? You should be glad to see me.” The scarred one whipped off her cloak and hung it on the hook tacked up behind the bar.
The bartender laughed, a hearty laugh, and shook his head. With a smile, he tousled the girl’s hair before turning to a more serious expression. He picked up a glass and filled it with a pint of Kara’s favorite ale. ”Ye know I am always happy to see yeh, girl. Though…I know someone else who’s been expecting yeh.” Gesturing off yonder with a jerk of his head, Liam pointed out the new regular, at his usual seat, with his usual drink, on this not so usual night. He arched a brow at Kara as she willingly took the ale from the place on the counter and started to head towards the man he knew as Kevin.
”Oy, then yer welcome, Kara!” He rolled his eyes, scoffing as he watched her off.
Kara nervously approached ‘Kevin’, hoping that this time won’t be as awkward of an approach as the time he met up with her and caught her with her ex. No, she thought. Nothing could ever be as awkward as that. ”Didn’t expect to see you here…”
